Grocery Bills – March 24, 2009

3lb box Parkay margarine squares x2

canned corn x2, canned creamed corn x2, canned pureed tomatoes x1 (these were all on sale, at 59 cents for the canned veggies, and 79 cents for the tomatoes)

1lb butter x2 ($2.97 lb)

Frozen Michelina things x3 – they were 99 cents, and when I'm lazy or sleep in, I can bring one of these for lunch. It's cheaper than eating out

Lunch meat – black forest ham, $1.00 per 100grams – this is shaved really thin, and I manage to get quite a few lunches for the boys from this

Ranch dressing, no name – special request from the boys, $1.47

Green pepper, one at 95 cents
English Cucumber, 1 at $1.27 (this was bad of me – I already have one in the fridge)

One loaf whole wheat bread at $1.47

Tortilla chips, plain, plus jar of salsa (my lunch)

Dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels

Total bill: $40.27

March 26/08

4 packages of boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale for $2.99lb – $16.63
1 green cabbage – 99 cents
More tortilla chips
Princess canned pasta (really – how could I resist it? It's Princess pasta!)

Total bill: $19.92 (it was $21.00, but I used my $1.08 coupon from my gas receipt)

Total of both trips: $60.19

Add that to the other day: $61.37 + $60.19 = $121.56

So far so good. I still have about $100 left in my grocery budget for the month BUT I was well stocked coming into March. April will probably need some pantry stocking again, and I will probably need a case of Coke before March is out.
